Instruction
Macramé vase
Checkliste
- 1 empty 966 g Cavendish & Harvey jar
- Measuring tape
- A little thicker string, about 2.5 metres
- Scissors
Step 1
Cut a carrier thread that is 25 cm long from the thicker string. Then forty 50 cm long strings. Attach the forty threads to the carrier thread.
To do this, take each thread twice and slide the loop under the carrier thread, place the loop over it and pull the long ends of the double thread evenly and firmly through the loop.
Step 2
When you have finished putting the double threads around the carrier thread place it around the glass and knot it.
Step 3
Now begin the knotting. Use the cross knot or the weaver knot for the vase. You need four threads for each knot.
Now take the left thread and put it over the two middle threads and then under the outer right thread again.
Now you lift the outer right thread and push it under the middle thread through the loop created on the right side.
Hold the two central threads with two fingers and pull the outer threads tightly on both sides.
Step 4
For the other half, start on the other side. The outer right thread is pushed over the two middle threads and under the outer left thread. The thread is raised under the two middle threads and pulled through the loop on the left side.
Tighten and your knot is finished. Repeat this process in the first round with the remaining threads, so that 20 cross knots are created.
Step 5
Take five knots for the later pattern. To make 4 knots in the next row, move the next row of cross knots by 2 strings. Repeat this process two more rows until there is only one knot left at the top. Cut off the excess cords.
